Key Advantages

  • Duty-free import of raw materials, components, and machinery
  • No VAT or customs duties on temporary imports
  • Tax-free export of finished goods
  • Single 1% tax applied only to local value added

Operating Requirements

  • CNIME-approved maquila contract
  • At least 90% of production destined for export
  • Temporary imports valid for up to 12 months (renewable)
  • Paraguayan entity or foreign subsidiary structure
  • Typically 3-5 local employees (or more, depending on activity)

Note:

Approval timelines may vary, but for export-oriented operations, the fiscal and logistical advantages are substantial.
